The Ministry would like to communicate its August 2024 fuel price review decision as follows:
That the Ministry recorded:
- over-recoveries of 131.923 cents per litre on petrol
- over-recoveries of 123.168 cents per litre on diesel 50ppm
- over-recoveries of 131.049 cents per litre on diesel 10ppm
The Ministry further decided to:
- Increase road user charges for Road Fund Administration (RFA) by 25 c/l, from 198 c/l to 223 c/l.
- introduce the weighted fuel transportation rates for transporting fuel, to replace both the current rail rates that are applicable for fuel transportation between Walvis Bay and the inland fuel pricing depots.
Therefore, the Ministry is hereby announcing that:
- petrol prices and that of both diesel grades will decrease by 100 cents per litre for the month of October.
- However, it should be noted that the net decrease in fuel prices will vary from location to location, taking into account the cost of delivery of fuel implied by the introduction of the weighted fuel transportation rates.
