Namibia hosts a wide variety of mineral deposits such as diamond placers, the world’s largest open pit uranium mine and the world renowned Tsumeb base metal mine. Continued exploration efforts by local and foreign exploration companies will ensure that new mineral deposits are discovered and developed.

Mining and exploration companies are actively exploring for diamonds, uranium, gold, base metals, rare metals, industrial minerals. Namibia also has several active dimension stones quarries and processing plants. Furthermore, companies are exploring for fossil fuels, of which the offshore Kudu gas field will be exploited in the near future.
